Humanity, Arise!

We're living critical moments across the planet. Loss, tragedy, fear and despair knocks at our door calling us to raise the banner for Humanity. It begs us stop the inhumane treatment of one to another. It's saying, "Humanity, arise!"

In most people, something more fundamental than fear and its affiliates (greed, lust for power, genocidal agendas) lives and moves in our hearts. It inspires us to reach out to the "other"--whoever, whatever that is--to overlook differences and even put our own lives at risk in the name of compassion; in the name of benevolence.

What makes some individuals respond to the urgency of moments such as the one humanity is experiencing across the globe by putting the lives of others before their own? What makes knowing right from wrong override fear? What takes place in people's mind when this happens? Neuroscience, studying the crossroads of thoughts and emotions, has arrived at conclusions not surprisingly identical to the teachings of native peoples. What is it?

A 180 degree shift of attention happens when we start moving in a pattern that spirals back upward towards unity consciousness. According to some creation myths, at some point in the unfolding of experience, we humans stopped perceiving our unity with and within Source intelligence. As a result, we dove into states of multi-layered fragmentation and increasingly condensed states of energetics to where we perceived matter as the beginning and end of reality. These ancient creation stories go on to explain how we forgot our true identity, perceived separation and put a distance between ourselves and Nature. Over time, human perception became entrenched in structure and our drive became materialistically focused. We turned self-centered, egotistical and blind to our constant interraction with all that is. The narrative that Nature lacked intelligence and its role was to serve under the domineering Homo Sapien yoke took hold as the engine within the Patriarchal mindset. This idea, that Nature and its "spoils" is there to serve human greed, caring little or nothing for ecocide, has characterized our Dark Age mentality up until our current times.

Did the knowledge about our essential nature simply dissapear? Do those, who are the heart of the Earth understand something wealthy, modern humans living in stock markets and colonialist frameworks do not? These, who call themselves the Heart of the Earth seem vastly more aware of the interconnectedness of life, calling it sacred, than what many minds across all sectors of human enterprise seem to understand. When are we going to catch up with the children and elders who live among the trees? When are we going to come out of the Dark Ages?

What does it take to perceive our essential nature? How can we restore true vision and return to seeing the fullness of our potential? Is it so difficult or complicated to restore within Humanity a heart-centered approach to Human activity on Earth? Is it too much to ask, to live according to the message of love powerfully incarnated in the acts and message of one who walked the Earth, cured the sick and taught the attitude of Son and Daughtership? We call him Jesus. Is his message not that same message that indigenous tribes, like those in the heart of Colombian forests, beg us to remember?

Remembering who we truly are and why we are here might yet turn the tide of our mistakes. Let's raise the banner for Humanity today and listen to the voice within our heart! Let's listen to the wisdom of the forest people. Let's kneel before their children and empty our minds clean.
